The Explorators.

In the late fifteenth century, European explorers were in search of new trade routes to the East Indies and Asia. The most famous of these explorers were Christopher Columbus, Vasco da Gama, and Ferdinand Magellan.

Christopher Columbus was born in Genoa, Italy, in 1451. He became a sailor and was interested in finding a route to the East Indies by sailing west. In 1492, he sailed west and landed in the Caribbean.

Vasco da Gama was born in Sines, Portugal, in 1460. He was a successful sailor and became interested in finding a route to the East Indies by sailing around Africa. In 1497, he sailed around Africa and landed in India.

Ferdinand Magellan was born in Sabrosa, Portugal, in 1480. He was a successful sailor and became interested in finding a route to the East Indies by sailing west. In 1519, he sailed west and landed in the Philippines.

All three explorers were motivated by the prospect of finding new and profitable trade routes. They were also willing to take risks in order to achieve their goals.
